Aloha Maui

Since Maddie ditched us for her spring break, we decided to spend it in Hana, Maui. It was relaxing and beautiful and sexy and fun.

Beast Jack

Jack is definitely one. That's the age where they are still very animal/beast, and you have to lovingly/patiently teach them how to be human/not crazy. He is adorable and sweet and cuddly. We love our pet Jack.

I taught him where his bellybutton is. He is obsessed with bellybuttons. He will likely go right up to you, lift your shirt, stick his boogar covered finger in your bellybutton, and laugh. I hate/love this game.

Jack has had ear infections pretty much monthly for his whole life. We finally did the ear tube surgery, and since then he has been doing much better.

Josh said Jack has bad breath now, so we let him suck on toothpaste all day.

You know how kids just come with their own interests and personalities? Well, Jack has a natural love for planes, trains, and automobiles. When we pass a motorcycle, big truck, red/orange car, tractor, airplane, etc., he says, "Wow!" and stops to stare. He definitely didn't pick this up from me. It must be his Tobler gene.

He is still obsessed with balls too.

What he chooses to be scared of is still fascinating to us. This disgusting spider came in his happy meal, and he immediately loved it and carried it around with him all day. But a blown up doctor glove at the hospital terrified him. Seriously, he is a strange little guy.

Jack has the worst year long allergies I have ever seen. Whenever he walks into the room, he usually looks just like this. That is why the nickname "Boogar" has stuck.

My Elegant Little Madeline

My whole life I have been asked if I was a ballerina. Apparently, I have the perfect ballerina feet. So when Maddie begged me to do ballet this year, I was pretty excited. She has the perfect little ballerina body.

King of the Mountain

I was really excited to travel somewhere awesome for Maddie's spring break. Josh and I were coming up with some super cool places that we wanted to take her to. So we asked her where in the world she wanted to go. Maddie wanted to spend her Spring Break with her Grandma Linda in Indiana. At first I was kind of confused about that (not Paris? or Australia?), but then when I saw the pictures I realized that her week with my mom was basically a week out of my childhood. Doing simple and happy and fun things. I totally get it now. She spent most of the week like this, getting to know Grandma Linda's shy, new pet cats.

Doing jump rope twisty thing.

Spending hours in the craft aisle.

Bowling in my old "Blossom" hat.

(Like this.)

Crocheting and making crafty things.

Then, she and Grandma Linda snuck down to Texas to surprise the Smith cousins.

Maddie loves Bring Your Daughter to Work Day.

And she will make you a bracelet or goldfish for $.50. It's her new business.
