Here is the cutest little traveler in the world. She wanted to carry her own backpack through the airport all by herself. When did she get so old?!
Our initial shock at the first gusts of cold air that hit us getting out of the cab.
We immediately found indoor things to do. We won almost 4000 tickets at Dave & Busters (similar to Chuckee Cheese but better) and traded them in for a bunch of super cool junk.
Ate breakfast at the Original Pancake House near Juli's house.
I knew that the indoor Children's Museum at Navy Pier wouldn't disappoint. (Parents need indoor options for the winter there!) They had a really cool, slightly scary maze that terrified Maddie. It was hilarious. Is that mean?
Our hero firefighters!
Being very serious during a checkers game that Josh challenged me to. Doesn't he realize that I always beat him at these sorts of games? (Everything but trivial pursuit, which I really suck at.)
This is me gloating.
We quickly realized that we would choose looking homeless over being cold, and layered on all kinds of borrowed warm things.
Here are the Eskimo Harris'.
Eating cupcakes at Juli's favorite cupcake store. "Yummylicious," as Maddie would say.
Reinacting my family's cougar statue pictures on a bull statue downtown. Maddie and I froze our rears off while Josh attempted to get up without a boost.
Something about a large, mirrored bean statue made us act ridiculous.
And Josh made our taxi driver drive out of his way and wait in the car while he got this picture. Can anyone guess one of Josh's all time favorite movies? "You've got nothing to worry about.....I'm a professional!"
Thanks Gi for showing us your town!

1. Josh trying to get on that bull just made me laugh so hard!
2. Even I know Josh's favorite movie.
3. I have never seen Josh wear anything other than shorts and maybe a zip up hoodie. It must have been COLD to get him to wear that!
4. I didn't know you were good at checkers.
5. I love that picture of Maddie being scared in the maze. She has the biggest eyes.
5. I'm glad you could go visit Gi. Did you bring me home a cupcake????
Whoops! Two #5s. I'm doing my own special counting.

today there is no clouds in the sky... but it's still 19 outside, and crazy windy! Thanks so much for coming to visit me! I had a blast showing you around my town and making you guys freeze! PS-where is Josh's hand in that cow picture?! I didn't even notice that before!!
I liked the Josh trying to get on the bull picture, too. Thanks for a gazillion pictures to look at.
(Have over 30,000 people really looked at your blog?!?!) see side thingee
This post really makes me like Las Vegas even more! Glad you had a fun trip!
Wow, you guys are brave, especially to go in February! But you guys do look really cute all bundled up. If you can brave Chicago, you definitely could brave the Twin Cities. Josh and Rob will have to catch some hockey games in the future and you and I could do some crazy shopping :) Yes, all those indoor play areas are life savers for sure :) What a fun trip.
Hey Rachel! I figured it was about time to make a comment, since I've been to your blog at least a handful of times. :) I love looking at your pictures, and all the fun places you go and all the funny things that happen in your life. :)
P.S. I think Jamie is one of the coolest gals I know, so you being her sister makes you cool too. LOL!
Hi Mandy. I, too, think Jamie is very cool. And thanks for leaving a little comment to say hello. It's good to hear from you again!
