The inevitable finally occurred. The fun is over. I once again started preterm labor at 6 months and am once again put on bedrest. (3rd and last time. Because this is the last pregnancy ever. Ever! Let's have a party to celebrate THAT!)
I knew it was coming, which is why I lived up the first two trimesters. You can tell that I'm a pro at this pregnancy crap because I calmly stroll into the hospital, remember to bring a sweater, and read my "Time" magazine while the nurses are trying to stop the contractions. They told me it was real contractions and I have started dilating, and I'm like, "Yeah yeah, give me the drugs and send me home." All the other ladies in the triage were first pregnancy amateurs because they were trying to argue with the nurses that they were in labor and the nurses are like, "No you're not, come back when you're in real pain." I just smirked in my corner and felt so superior. :o)
Thank goodness for powerful drugs, right? Don't worry, I don't take the strict bedrest rule lightly. I don't mess around when it comes to the health of my babies. But if you see me sneaking out of the house on occasion don't lecture or judge me. Bedrest is the most horrifically boring and isolating thing I have ever had to do. It sucks big time. So when someone you know gets put on it, never say "What are you doing out of bed?" or "You are so lucky. Enjoy the downtime before the baby comes," because you will likely get punched in the face. We're just trying to keep our sanity. Especially when there is nothing on TV during the summer.
All I'm saying is thank goodness for Apple TV and TiVo and Netflix. And thank goodness for my body pillow. And thank goodness that Maddie is old enough to do a decent enough job at cleaning up dog pee now.

I love your positivity through all of this. Maybe it's just how you come across on your blog, I'm not sure, but I bet you are this way in person too. I'm always in awe of how happy and positive you are in your retrospective posts. :) Also, the part about you feeling so superior made me laugh. That feeling is the best. Don't you just wish YOU could have been the one to tell them to go home and come back when they're in real pain? ha ha!! I'm teasing.. :) kinda. Do you have any good books to read?? Thank goodness for Netflix, etc. is right! We're thinking about you, Rachel!
So glad you are well. Enjoy netflix. You should totally watch Desperate Housewives. I am ashamed to admit that we are addicted to it. I am also not ashamed to admit it.=) Call me anytime if you want. The country makes me go a little stir crazy somedays!!=)
Well well well...since you're a pro at this now, you know that you have lots of friends close by wanting to give you a break and entertain you, myself included. I can learn some new tricks to perform for you like blowing a bubble inside an already blown bubble of bubble gum and break out our old photo albums to give you some belly laughs. I'll learn some new jokes too. When you're burnt out on TiVo and Netflix, let me know and I'll swing on by. :) I can bring fresh cut watermelon with me too, if you'd like...
That sucks. You do have a great attitude. I hope you make it through all the boringness and TV. Do you watch Suits? We love that show. It's on USA on Thursday nights... It's a lawyer show of course. Anyway, at least all the Fall shows are coming back soon! Good luck!
Ahhhh You suspected this was your fate. Such a good mama you are! Hang in there and yet to be named will be here before you know it.
I bet bed rest drives you crazy. I don't blame you for needing a little escape now and then.
For TV: check out The Newsroom on HBO. Holy cow! I'm only three episodes in but, man, I'm hooked.
Well, there is one good thing about bedrest... online shopping! Also a good chance to catch up on all the best selling books out there right now. I hope it goes well for you!!!
That stinks- but YAY last time!
Oh I also wanted to suggest some of my FAVES on Netflix:
Samantha Who
Drop Dead Diva
Downtown Abbey
Pretty Little Liars
Wonder Years
Let me know when you need more ;)
The show Damages is a great legal drama too. Hang in there! Oh and Matt suggests the name Hank, it's his favorite :)
